Greetings, I’m Cheri Petro, and I’m excited to share a little about my journey with you. From a young age, I was captivated by nature, science, history, art, and philosophy. Inspired by my hero Jacques Cousteau, I initially aimed to become a Marine Biologist. I experienced severe seasickness during my studies at Lehigh University. As a result, I pivoted my focus towards business. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a triple major in accounting, finance, and economics. Later, I completed an MBA from Wilmington College.
I spent a decade working in financial budgeting and reporting for Fortune 25 companies. During that time, I realized my true passion lay in creative expression. I embraced my artistic side, taking various art classes and developing my skills as a self-taught pastel artist. My work has been featured in 60 juried national exhibitions, including my pastel “Coca Cola Series”. I also have work in other mediums like charcoal, pen & ink, watercolor, and acrylic. Creating art was and still is a cathartic healing activity.
Spirituality emerged and became more important during this time too. I participated in a variety of drum circles. I studied “Effortless” transcendental meditation™ with Greg Schweitzer. He is a teacher from Deepak Chopra’s school. I continued studying many other styles of meditation and breath work which I teach to others in my community today. My journey expanded during a vision quest and apprenticeship with a traditional shaman of Lakota, Ojibwe and Mayan heritage. During vision quest, I discovered a relationship with stones. This discovery led to becoming a certified “Crystal Resonance Therapist” ™ through the Crystalis Institute in Vermont. I completed courses in “Crystal Surgery” in Nashville, TN.
Gardening and pet rescue have been consistent therapeutic pastimes throughout my life. They keep me grounded and deeply connected to the Earth. While living in West Virginia, I acquired a Master Gardener certification. To borrow from “Forrest Gump”, “gardening is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get.” The experience of nurturing pollinators and vegetables across multiple gardens has provided various teaching opportunities. These include entomology, IPM, and butterfly gardening. As Siberian Husky rescuers, we have welcomed sixteen furry children and are now caring for four fluffy companions.
Sound healing too has also been a constant and prominent force throughout my life bridging all my paths and modalities. I started with simple body toning. Over the years, I’ve taken many classes. I explored a plethora of sound healing techniques. These experiences guided me to seek professional Sound Therapist certification through the Academy of Sound Healing in the UK.
This work fulfills me deeply. I am committed to using my experience and skills in meditation, breath work, crystals, and sound to help you in your healing journey. Every session is unique and tailored to you. I look ahead to working with you soon!
