TUNING FORK TIPS FROM THE PODCAST BLOG 2

Thank you all who watched the โ€œProfessionals of the Roundtableโ€ podcast. During the last third of the podcast, I demonstrated several tuning fork techniques for healing and relaxation.

Another great way to use C & G forks is to dance with them. Swirl them all around your body.  Go in different directions. Try left to right around the body, then go in the opposite direction. Or start above the head swirling down to the toes and back up.  Do figure eights. Create tight or loose swirls. Stretch the forks out as far as your arms can reach. Then bring them back close to your heart, your head, or any other organ. Follow your intuition. These techniques flush the auric layers.

Swirling/circling techniques can also be used over any specific joint, muscle, chakra or organ. Tap the forks. Hold them an inch or two above the body part you’re working on. Make sure the tines are facing the body.  Gently rotate them in a clockwise direction. How does that feel? Change direction. Notice any difference? Experiment. Rotate both in the same direction or rotate one counterclockwise while the other is clockwise.  Another idea is to place one on either side of a joint and rotate. Or in front of and behind a body part, like a hip, knee, ankle, elbow, or wrist and rotate.

There are two more advanced applications that involve โ€œBody Sweepingโ€. โ€œBody Sweepingโ€ is the process of using forks to slowly trace the 14 meridians or the 10 reflexology zones.

Traditional Chinese Medicine has defined 14 energetic pathways (meridians) that that flow throughout the body. They carry Qi or vital energy which support various physiological and emotional functions. The โ€œResourcesโ€ page has links to websites with short routines for keeping meridian energy healthy and flowing. Donna Edenโ€™s โ€œ5-minute Energy Routineโ€ is easy and quick. Ritchie Kul provides simple instructions on properly tracing meridians. In both cases, they donโ€™t use tuning forks. Learn the routines and then add tuning forks.

Reflexology divides the body into ten vertical zones. Five on each side that run from head to toe. Everything in a zone is interconnected and energetically aligned. The picture below shows zone locations. Use the forks to slowly trace each zone. Trace the whole body or just the zones on your feet. (Note, the big toe contains all the zones.)

With these techniques, itโ€™s important to be gentle and NOT OVERDO IT. To start, trace one meridian, or one reflexology zone, two times. Pay attention to how your body feels. It may take time before you notice change. Practice daily. Build slowly. Wait a week before adding another tracing.

I hope these tuning fork tips help you on your healing journey. Thanks for listening to the Podcast.
